Slope Depressurization

Overcview
High pore water pressures trapped within rock mass fractures act as a lubricant and are a leading cause of major slope instability. We design specific depressurization programs to relieve this trapped fluid pressure directly behind the pit walls, actively reinforcing the structural integrity of the rock mass.
Features
Design and layout of horizontal drain hole (HDH) networks.
Structural and hydrogeological mapping to target specific water-bearing fault zones.
Installation of vibrating wire piezometers (VWPs) to measure pressure reduction efficacy.
Benefits
Directly increases the factor of safety for pit walls, preventing multi-bench or overall slope failures.
Allows for steeper, more aggressive slope designs by managing the water risk, significantly reducing waste stripping costs.
